| Summer
League 2008 Registration is open!

Summer league will begin Wednesday, May 21. It will continue
every Wednesday night until August 6. We'll have a mid-season
tournament on Saturday, June 28. The end-of-season tournament
will be on Saturday, August 9.
Registration is $50 before May 11, $55 by the online deadline
of May 18, and $60 after that. This fee covers the cost of
fields, jerseys, discs, and the end-of-season party.
While registering, players will be asked to honestly evaluate
their playing ability in two categories, skill/experience
and athleticism/fitness. These are the guidelines for the
player ratings.
Experience/ Skills
1. I have played ultimate only as a pick-up or intra-mural
sport. I can throw a backhand and am inconsistent with other
throws.
2. I have played organized ultimate such as Summer/Fall league
but I am definitely still learning. My throws are okay.
3. I have played a lot of organized ultimate (such as for
a school team or have played multiple summer leagues). I regularly
play and can throw both forehands and backhands consistently.
4. I am a dedicated ultimate player. I have played in more
than a couple club or college team tournaments. I have very
good throws and know my role on a good team. I can consistently
hit the open player.
5. I currently play or practice with a club or college team
that regularly plays in tournaments. In summer league I am
one of the leaders on the field because my skills athleticism
and poise.
6. I am a top-level player. I am one of the best players on
my club or college team. I am an impact player either with
my throws or defense.
Athleticism/Fitness
1. Prefer to guard the other teams slowest player.
2. In ok shape, but not so fast or quick.
3. Okay defender with decent speed. Don't get winded that
fast, but average athleticism
4. In good shape, kinda quick but not fast enough to keep
up with the really fast players.
5. In great shape. Exercise and play aerobic sports a lot.
Can guard most anyone.
6. In fantastic shape. Normally guard the best players on
the other team. Use speed to chase down every throw, if it's
in a crowd I'll get it.
