NUM: Who Are We? more >>

Nashville Ultimate Machine (NUM) is an eclectic group of athletes who choose to play a rather “alternative” sport known as Ultimate Frisbee. Ultimate is a unique, fast-moving, competitive field sport that combines elements of soccer, basketball, and football with the beauty of a flying disc.
The game is played and governed by a code of conduct know as “Spirit of the Game” to keep play fair and friendly. The game is characterized by its high regard for mutual respect among players and absence of referees even at the highest level. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play. This unique standard of sportsmanship creates an etiquette and camaraderie not typically found in other sports.
Ultimate is governed in the U.S. by the Ultimate Players Association. The game is played by all ages and abilities, at high school, college, club, and even national team levels. NUM represents the club level, which is characterized by city tournaments hosting 15-75 teams. Most mid- to large-size cities across the U.S. host at least one tournament each year.
